Washington Commanders

Washington Commanders were a professional American football team based in Washington, D.C. The team was a member of the Alliance of American Football (AAF), a short-lived professional league that operated in 2019.

The Washington Commanders were one of eight teams that participated in the inaugural season of the AAF. The team played its home games at Audi Field, a soccer-specific stadium in the Southwest Waterfront neighborhood of Washington, D.C.

The team was led by head coach Pep Hamilton, who previously served as the offensive coordinator for the Michigan Wolverines and the Indianapolis Colts.

Hamilton was joined on the coaching staff by a mix of experienced NFL assistants and up-and-coming coaches.
